Self portrait, August 2009
I was born in west London in 1972. My dad still works in music management and my mother is retired. She was always the main photographer for our family. She taught me the basics.

As a teenager I became a member of a couple of youth organisations; A young people's photography project and a youth theatre. As official photographer for the theatre I meticulously documented the workings of the group. The group performed at international festivals in Holland and Switzerland, as well as throughout London and the UK.

After secondary school I enrolled at the University of Westminster to study Film, Video and Photographic Arts. It was at Westminster that I studied contemporary critical theories. In addition to the visual studies, I started scanning and using photoshop. I also started a part time job working in a photographic bureau in Soho.

Aside from a chance encounter with a Casio QV-10a digital camera in 1996, I went on photographic hiatus, working in an internet access cafe until 2002. I then got a job working in the digital studio of a records management company. My professional involvement with taking photos encouraged me to take more personal portrait based work in my spare time.

In late 2004 I built this web site and within days received his first commission - to shoot a family on Primrose Hill (in the rain)..Since then I have undertaken commissions for PR agencies, done weddings, parties and events as well as portraits on behalf of my clients for personal and professional reasons.
